PracticeLink CV is a professional CV management platform designed specifically for physicians and healthcare providers. It allows you to:

Share your CV with employers using these methods:
1. Shareable Link
- Click "Share" on your CV
- Generate a secure link
- Set expiration date or view limit
- Optionally add password protection
- Copy and send the link
2. Direct Email
- Enter recipient email address
- Add a personal message
- CV is sent as a secure link
3. Download & Attach
- Export as PDF
- Attach to job applications
Track who views your shared CV in the Analytics section.
To view CV analytics:
- Open your CV
- Click "Analytics" in the menu
- View the dashboard showing:
- Total Views - All-time view count
- Unique Viewers - Number of distinct people
- Views Over Time - Graph of daily/weekly views
- Geographic Data - Where viewers are located
- Device Types - Desktop, mobile, tablet
- Share Link Performance - Views per share link
For password-protected shares, viewer identity may be available if they provided their email.
To update your contact information:
- Click your profile icon
- Select "Profile"
- Navigate to "Contact Information"
- Update any of the following:
- Email addresses (primary and alternate)
- Phone numbers
- Mailing address
- Professional website
- LinkedIn profile
- Click "Save Changes"
Updated contact information will automatically appear on all CVs that include contact details.
To edit sections of your CV:
- Open your CV in the editor
- Click on the section you want to modify
- Use the editing controls to:
- Add - Click "Add Entry" to create new items
- Edit - Click on any field to modify it
- Reorder - Drag and drop to change the order
- Delete - Click the remove icon to delete entries
- Changes are saved automatically
- Use Preview to see your changes
You have complete control over CV visibility:
- Private - Only you can view
- Shared Links - Specific people with the link
- Section Control - Hide specific sections when sharing
- Revoke Access - Disable shared links anytime
Privacy controls per share:
- Password protection
- Expiration dates
- View limits
- Download permissions (allow/deny)
- Comment permissions
To add board certifications:
- Go to Board Certifications section
- Click "Add Certification"
- Enter:
- Certifying board (e.g., ABIM, ABFM)
- Specialty and subspecialty
- Certification status
- Certificate number
- Initial certification date
- Expiration date (if applicable)
- Save the entry
If your certification was verified through primary source verification, it may already appear in your profile. Lifetime certifications can be marked as such.
Yes, you can fully customize the order of sections:
- Open your CV in the editor
- Look for the section reorder controls (drag handles)
- Drag sections up or down to rearrange them
- Toggle sections on/off using the visibility controls
Tips:
- Put your strongest sections near the top
- Academic CVs typically lead with Education
- Clinical CVs often lead with Experience
- Each CV saves its own section order
To change your password:
- Go to Account Settings
- Select "Security"
- Click "Change Password"
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password
- Confirm your new password
- Click "Update Password"
Password requirements:
- Minimum 8 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
Consider enabling two-factor authentication for additional security.
To create your first CV:
- Log in to your PracticeLink CV account
- Click "Create New CV" from your dashboard
- Select a template that fits your needs
- Your profile data will automatically populate relevant sections
- Review and customize each section as needed
- Save your CV and preview it before sharing
You can create multiple CVs for different purposes, such as academic positions, clinical roles, or research opportunities.
To revoke access to a shared CV:
- Open your CV
- Click "Manage Shares" or go to Settings
- View all active share links with:
- Recipient name/email
- Creation date
- View count
- Last accessed
- Click "Revoke" next to the link
- Confirm revocation
Access is revoked immediately. The recipient will see a "Link expired" message if they try to access the CV.
To add publications to your CV:
- Navigate to the Publications section
- Click "Add Publication"
- Enter the citation details:
- Authors (including your position in author list)
- Article/Chapter title
- Journal or book name
- Volume, issue, and page numbers
- Publication date
- DOI or PMID (if available)
- Select the publication type (peer-reviewed, book chapter, abstract, etc.)
- Choose your preferred citation format
You can also import publications from PubMed using your name or ORCID ID.
To switch to a different template:
- Open your CV
- Click "Change Template" in the toolbar
- Browse available templates
- Click on any template to preview your CV in that format
- Compare different templates using the preview
- Click "Apply Template" to switch
Important notes:
- All your content is preserved when switching
- Section order may adjust to match template defaults
- Custom styling resets to template defaults
- You can switch templates at any time
To add medical licenses:
- Navigate to the Licenses section
- Click "Add License"
- Enter:
- State or jurisdiction
- License type (MD, DO, etc.)
- License number
- Issue date
- Expiration date
- Current status (Active, Inactive)
- Save the entry
Features:
- Licenses expiring within 90 days are flagged
- Multiple state licenses supported
- Compact license states are indicated
View notifications include:
- Date & Time - When the CV was viewed
- Share Link - Which link was used (if multiple)
- Location - City/region (when available)
- Device - Type of device used
- Duration - How long they viewed (if available)
Notification settings:
- Instant - Get notified immediately
- Daily Digest - One summary email per day
- Weekly Summary - Weekly analytics report
- Off - No view notifications

PracticeLink CV supports multiple date formats:
- Full Month/Year - January 2024
- Abbreviated Month/Year - Jan 2024
- Numeric - 01/2024 or 2024-01
- Year Only - 2024
For date ranges:
- Current positions display as "January 2020 - Present"
- Completed positions show both dates
You can set the format globally in your CV settings or customize it per section based on convention (e.g., academic CVs often use full month names).
Download and print permissions are controlled per share:
- Allow Download - Recipients can download PDF/Word versions
- View Only - Recipients can only view online, no download button
To set permissions:
- Click "Share" on your CV
- Toggle "Allow Download" on or off
- Generate the share link
Note: View-only mode prevents the download button from appearing, but cannot prevent screenshots or browser print functions.

To delete your account:
- Go to Account Settings
- Scroll to "Delete Account"
- Click "Request Account Deletion"
- Enter your password to confirm
- Review what will be deleted
- Type "DELETE" to confirm
Warning: This will permanently delete:
- Your account and login credentials
- All CVs and versions
- All shared links
- All analytics data
- Profile information
This action cannot be undone. We recommend exporting all CVs before deletion.
About geographic location data:
- Accuracy - Typically city or region level
- Method - IP address geolocation
- Limitations:
- VPN users may show VPN server location
- Mobile users may show carrier location
- Corporate networks may show headquarters
How we use location data:
- Show where your CV is being viewed
- Help you identify geographic interest
- Aggregate analytics only (not shared with others)
We do not track precise addresses or GPS coordinates.
